Ramna: During the Budget Session of the Legislative Assembly, MLA Anant Pratap Deo raised a demand to incorporate the villages of Atiyari, Barhiya, and Garda—currently situated within the Bulka Panchayat of Ramna Block—into the Sagma Block, citing the need for administrative convenience. He stated that, given the geographical location of these villages, linking them with the Sagma Block would be a more practical approach.
Addressing the Assembly, the MLA pointed out that the distance between these villages and the Ramna Block headquarters exceeds 12 kilometers, whereas the Sagma Block headquarters is located in close proximity to them. Under these circumstances, villagers face significant difficulties in reaching the Block headquarters to access government schemes and attend to administrative matters.
He further noted that Atiyari, Barhiya, and Garda are areas predominantly inhabited by primitive tribal communities. Consequently, the considerable distance is emerging as a major impediment to the effective implementation of development schemes and the smooth execution of administrative functions.
The MLA urged the government to take necessary action—in the interest of the public—to de-link these villages from the Ramna Block and incorporate them into the Sagma Block, thereby ensuring that the residents of the region can easily access the benefits of administrative services and development initiatives.
