Garhwa: The results of the municipal elections announced in Garhwa district clearly indicate that the candidates who succeeded at the local level were those who had been active and available to the public for a long time. Winning elections based solely on money, resources, and external glamor proved impossible.
In the Garhwa Municipal Council, Ashish Kumar Soni, also known as Daulat Soni, won by a margin of 3411 votes, securing 7201 votes. He has been active in the area for several years and has maintained regular outreach on local issues.
In Shri Banshidhar Nagar Panchayat, Sadhna Devi won with 3,266 votes. Her family’s social involvement and consistent presence in the area were reflected in the election results.
In the Majhiaon Nagar Panchayat, Sumitra Devi secured 3,712 votes, winning the position of president for the third consecutive time. Her easy accessibility and constant contact with the public gave her an edge.
The results from all three bodies demonstrate that grassroots influence, trust, and social connections are crucial factors in local elections. Economic strength, abundance of resources, or campaign brilliance are not enough to influence voters.
