Garhwa: To ensure good governance and transparency in the district, the district administration has taken strict action against corruption. On the instructions of Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Magistrate Dinesh Yadav, Revenue Sub-Inspector Shivpat Ram, Circle Office, Bhandaria, has been suspended with immediate effect.
The above action was taken on the basis of a written complaint and call recording received at the Janta Darbar held on February 3, 2026. The complaint alleged that an illegal demand of ₹10,000 (ten thousand rupees) was made in exchange for submitting an investigation report relating to Mauja-Janeva, account number-111, plot number-863, measuring 4.28 acres of land.
In light of the complaint, Additional Collector Raj Maheshwaram conducted an investigation into the matter. The investigation report confirmed the allegations, and the concerned official also admitted to demanding the money in his explanation. This conduct was found to be contrary to the Government Servants’ Conduct Rules.
Accordingly, Shivpat Ram has been suspended with immediate effect under Rule 9(1) of the Jharkhand Government Servants (Classification, Control and Appeal) Rules, 2016.
During the suspension period, his headquarters has been designated as the Zonal Office, Kharondhi, where he will regularly mark his attendance. He will be paid a subsistence allowance as per rules.
Also, the Zonal Officer, Bhandaria has been directed to ensure that the charge sheet is prepared and departmental proceedings are initiated soon.
Deputy Commissioner Dinesh Yadav clarified that the district administration is operating with a zero-tolerance policy regarding corruption. The public has been urged to fearlessly report any illegal demands or irregularities to the administration.
