The police have taken swift action and solved the sensational daylight shooting incident in Narkhoriya village, located in the Shri Banshidhar Nagar police station area. In this case, the police have arrested Sandeep Kumar Singh, a resident of Bokaro, and his girlfriend, Rajni Mehta.
Umesh Mehta, 50, son of late Jai Govind Mahato, a resident of Narkhoriya village, was seriously injured in the incident.
It was reported that he was sitting at his shop when a young man posing as a customer arrived and asked for cigarettes and gutkha. Suddenly, he pulled out a weapon and fired at Umesh Mehta. The bullet struck his left shoulder and passed through.
Following the incident, with the help of locals, the injured was admitted to the sub-divisional hospital, where doctors declared his condition stable. He was later referred to Garhwa for better treatment.
Upon receiving information about the incident, SDPO Satyendra Narayan Singh arrived at the scene and began an investigation. In swift police action, the accused was arrested in the Boganshi area on the Garhwa-Shahpur Road. A country-made pistol was also recovered from him.
Love affair became the reason for the incident:
A police investigation revealed that a love affair was at the root of the shooting. Rajni Mehta and Sandeep Kumar Singh became friends through social media in 2021, which later blossomed into a love affair.
Meanwhile, Rajni’s family arranged her marriage to Umesh Mehta’s eldest son, Abhay Mehta. Rajni was unhappy with the marriage and wanted to stop it. As part of this plan, she summoned her lover, Sandeep, from Bokaro.
Sandeep arrived in Garhwa on March 27th by motorcycle and stayed in a hotel. On the morning of March 28th, he went to Umesh Mehta’s house, the location Rajni had provided. His real target was Abhay Mehta, but he was not at home.
When Abhay was not found, Sandeep shot his father Umesh Mehta, who was present at the spot, and tried to escape.
Panic in the area, police alert:
Following the incident, panic gripped the entire area. However, the police acted swiftly, not only arresting the accused but also solving the entire case. Currently, the police are interrogating both accused and further legal proceedings are underway.
