Majhiaon: Municipal Council President candidate Maruti Nandan Soni held a press conference on Friday and leveled serious allegations against the outgoing president and candidate Sumitra Devi.
Mr. Soni stated that his supporter, Shatrughan Kumar Paswan, brother of Pradyumna Kumar Paswan, a resident of Amar West Tola, was allegedly threatened by Sabir Ansari, a supporter of Sumitra Devi. According to him, Shatrughan Kumar Paswan was told to convince his brother to abandon Maruti Nandan and support Sumitra Devi, or face dire consequences.
Mr. Soni alleged that he sees his victory as certain, which is why the opposition is resorting to such actions out of panic.
Sumitra Devi calls the allegations baseless, Sumitra Devi, meanwhile, dismissed the allegations as completely false and unfounded. She said that Maruti Nandan Soni has become nervous due to the growing public support for her, and that is why he is making such allegations.
He said that if a third-party exit poll were conducted, it would become clear who the public was supporting. He questioned why a winning candidate would issue such threats. The political atmosphere in the area is heated due to the municipal council elections, and both sides are blaming each other.
