Meral: The grand Navyuvak Premier League Cricket Tournament was held on Sunday at the Milan Point ground in Hasandag village, Meral block area. The tournament was inaugurated by BJP leader Vinay Kumar Choubey, local headman representative Harendra Chaudhary, Gulbas Ansari, Anil Chaudhary, Santosh Chaudhary, Ajmer Ansari, and other dignitaries by jointly cutting the ribbon.
Addressing the players at the inauguration, BJP leader Vinay Kumar Choubey said that sports promote mental and physical development in children and strengthen mutual harmony. He appealed to the players and the organizing committee to conduct the games in a harmonious environment. He also inspired the players to bring glory to their village and state by performing well. Harendra Chaudhary also encouraged the players. During the event, Vinay Choubey formally inaugurated the tournament by hitting the ball with his bat.
A total of 16 teams are participating in this cricket tournament and all the matches will be played for 10 overs each. The inaugural match was played between Hunter Eleven Belchampa and Kapil Eleven Hasandag. Belchampa’s team won the toss and decided to field first. Batting first, Hasandag’s team scored 92 runs in the stipulated 10 overs. In reply, Belchampa’s team was all out after scoring 69 runs. Hasandag team player Vipin Kumar gave a brilliant performance, scoring 37 runs and also taking three wickets, for which he was declared man of the match.
The second match was played between the Bana team and the Chama team. The Chama team batted first and scored 88 runs. Chasing the target, the Bana team won the match in 9 overs and 2 balls, losing 7 wickets.
Imran Ansari and Maqsood Ansari acted as umpires in the match, while Mansoor Ansari did the scoring. Anil Chaudhary and Saddam Ansari did the commentary. The tournament organizing committee includes President Imran Ansari, Vice President Raja Alam, Treasurer Sajid Ansari, Secretary Sachin Krishna Chaudhary, Deputy Secretary Deepak Chaudhary. Apart from this, Mansoor Ansari, Ajmer Ansari, Saddam Ansari, Gulabas Ansari, Alok Chaudhary, Dinanath Chaudhary, Kamlesh Chaudhary, Kausar Ansari, Gafoor Ansari, Ainul Ansari, Ramkesh Chaudhary, Habib Ansari, Tauheed Ansari, Ashok Chaudhary, Anish Ansari, Arif Ansari, Monish Ansari and many others were present as members.
There was an atmosphere of excitement in the village regarding the tournament and a large number of spectators were present in the ground to enjoy the match.
