Garhwa: The Jharkhand government presented a budget of ₹158,560 crore to mark its silver jubilee year, but this budget appears completely directionless, baseless, and visionless. The lack of concrete direction and clear planning is evident in key areas such as the underprivileged, education, and employment.
On this occasion, All India Council, Garhwa District Coordinator Shubham Tiwari said that this budget lacks a clear vision for the interests of students, youth, and farmers. No concrete and effective provisions have been made for the education sector, focusing on the student community. Millions of students in the state are constantly struggling for quality education, skill development, digital education, and improved educational facilities in rural areas, but the budget lacks a clear plan for these issues.
He said that the budget speech did not clearly outline the expected provisions for key areas such as innovative initiatives in the education sector, the expansion of higher education, vocational education, and increased scholarships. While the government is talking about building universities and colleges, no concrete announcement has been made regarding the appointment of teachers and non-teaching staff. This raises the question of how the teaching process will function smoothly without adequate recruitment.
Shubham Tiwari further stated that no concrete initiatives are visible regarding employment generation, scholarship expansion, and skill development. The government, which promised 1 million jobs, has remained silent on critical issues such as the future of contract workers and youth empowerment. This budget also provided no concrete relief to the farmers who feed the nation. Special provisions were needed to reduce agricultural costs, ensure support prices, and expand irrigation facilities, but these are not clearly visible. Overall, this budget appears to be far from the expectations and needs of the general public.
