Majhiaon: Holi, the festival of colours, Majhiaon and Bardiha
Holi was celebrated in a peaceful and harmonious atmosphere in various areas of the district. From early Wednesday morning, people greeted each other with colors, abir, and gulal. During this time, people shared the joy of the festival by feeding each other sweets and dishes.
From around 10 a.m. until late at night, people danced to the beats of Holi songs played by DJs at many locations. Youths played Holi with great enthusiasm and joy, splashing colors and abir. In many places, young people even tore clothes in the traditional style of Holi.
On Holi, some shops were open in the morning due to the Wednesday market in Majhiyan, but most closed after about 11 a.m. Meanwhile, a Holi Milan celebration was organized under the leadership of the Yagyacharya at the Gopalpur Yagyashala in the block area. During this, members of the Yagya Committee chanted “Har Har Mahadev” and “Jai Bhole Shankar.”
The police administration was fully active to ensure a peaceful Holi celebration. Before Holi, a flag march was conducted by police officers in Majhiyan under the leadership of Police Inspector Brij Kumar. In the Bardihha police station area, flag marches were conducted in various areas under the leadership of Station House Officer Rishikesh Kumar Singh.
Majhiaon Police Station in-charge Omprakash Toppo and Bardihha Police Station in-charge Rishikesh Kumar Singh said that Holi was celebrated in a completely peaceful atmosphere in both police station areas. No untoward incidents had been reported as of the time of writing this news.
