Garhwa: The festival of Holi is being celebrated with joy and traditional enthusiasm in Garhwa district headquarters. Since Wednesday morning, various neighborhoods and squares across the city have been abuzz with colors. Children and youth have taken to the streets with water guns and colors, smearing each other with colors. In many places, people are seen dancing in groups to Holi songs.
Traditional dishes are being prepared at homes, and people are visiting each other’s homes, offering greetings with abir-gulal (colourful colour). Markets have been bustling since morning, especially meat and chicken shops, with crowds of shoppers. Sweet shops and grocery stores have also seen increased footfall.
Peace and order has remained normal in the city since the Holika Dahan. The administration has made elaborate security arrangements at major intersections. Despite the deployment of police forces, people are enjoying the festival without any worries. Currently, the Holi celebrations in the city are continuing in a harmonious and peaceful atmosphere.
