Garhwa: Amid the ongoing election atmosphere in the Garhwa Municipal Council area, the issue of tearing posters is gaining momentum. CCTV footage has surfaced in which two young men are allegedly seen removing banners and posters.
The video shows two young men getting out of a car. They first chase away a dog present there and then hurriedly tear down the posters, put them in the car and drive away.
Presidential candidate Vikas Mali held a press conference and claimed that a young man seen in the footage has been identified as Uttam Kumar. According to him, Uttam Kumar is a worker of Ashish Kumar Soni, alias Daulat, the other presidential candidate. Mr. Mali also said that Uttam Kumar had previously worked for him.
Mr. Mali alleged that Uttam Kumar was initially sent to work for him as part of a conspiracy to gather information about his activities. He later left the job and joined Daulat Soni. He alleged that this move was motivated by fear of a possible defeat in the election.
Vikas Mali has filed a written complaint against Ashish Soni, alias Daulat Soni, at the Garhwa police station, stating that the incident has caused him personal and electoral harm.
Meanwhile, Mr. Mali expressed apprehension that the opposition might attempt to disrupt the election process. He demanded a fair investigation and appropriate action from the police administration.
However, an official response to the allegations from the other side was not available at the time of writing this report. Police are investigating the matter.
