Garhwa: The Garhwa Municipal Council President election has intensified with rhetoric. Candidate Vikas Mali has leveled serious allegations against his opponent, Ashish Kumar Soni, alias Daulat Soni, and urged voters not to vote for him.
The case concerns Pankaj Kumar (father: Umesh Mehta) of Tandwa Ward 21, who was recently injured in a road accident. A report on a local channel claimed that Daulat Soni and his team took the injured person to Sadar Hospital in their own vehicle and provided all possible assistance. The report described him as a kind-hearted person who helped despite his election commitments.
However, the injured man’s family alleges that Daulat Soni merely arrived at the hospital, posed for photographs, and left. According to the family, no financial or other assistance was provided afterward. They allege that the injured man was used solely for vote bank support and received no help despite repeated attempts.
Addressing a press conference on the issue, Vikas Mali said the incident was an example of his opponent’s alleged “showy social service.” He alleged that social service was limited to photo opportunities and urged voters to consider this.
At present, the political atmosphere is heated due to the claims of both the parties regarding the matter.
