Shri Bansidhar Nagar: Cyber fraud cases are continuing unabated in Shri Banshidhar Nagar. Recently, Police Station Officer Upendra Kumar visited the State Bank of India to educate customers about cyber fraud, but criminals defrauded a family of lakhs of rupees.
Jitendra Kumar Pal, a resident of Kushdand village in the police station area, submitted an application to the Nagar Untari police station and the Cyber police station, stating that a total of Rs 5,79,725 was illegally withdrawn from his and his wife Durgavati Kumari’s separate bank accounts.
How did the game happen?
According to the victim, his mobile phone suddenly lost network between 5 and 6 pm on February 9th. On February 17th, a relative transferred ₹50,000 to his SBI account number 33810537788 and informed him from another mobile phone. Due to the lack of network, he was unable to check his balance.
When the account was checked through ATM on February 18, it was found that only Rs 50,000 sent by the relative was left, whereas the entire amount already deposited had been withdrawn.
From which accounts was the money withdrawn?
The bank investigation revealed that-
State Bank of India: ₹98,800
IDBI Bank: ₹1,74,965
Wife’s State Bank of India: ₹1,82,943
From Bank of Indi: ₹1,24,372
In total, the money was siphoned off through approximately 47 transactions. The victim alleges that cybercriminals took control of his mobile phone and obtained OTP and banking access. All accounts were linked to a single mobile number.
Through the application, Jitendra Kumar Pal has demanded to identify the culprits and take strict action against them and get back the withdrawn amount.
The increasing activity of cybercriminals has once again made people aware of the need to be vigilant. Even a small negligence can cost you years of savings.
