Majhiaon: Rishikesh Kumar Singh, station in-charge of Bardihha police station, has appealed to public representatives, dignitaries, intellectuals, and villagers in his area to stay away from rumors of child abduction. He said that beating or inhumanely treating any unknown person, assuming they are a child abductor, is a crime under the law. Under no circumstances should one take the law into one’s own hands.
The station in-charge said that if any suspicious information is received, first verify its veracity and immediately inform the police by calling 112. Do not assault or mistreat any stranger. He appealed to parents to pay special attention to their children. If a child goes missing, first search the surrounding area and, if they are not found, immediately inform the police.
He said that on Sunday, a five-year-old boy fell into a well while eating berries in Lalgada village, part of the police station area. The family raised an alarm, suspecting child abduction. Upon receiving the information, police conducted a search and recovered the child’s body from a nearby well. Later, it became clear that rumors of child abduction were being spread.
The station in-charge said everyone should stay away from rumors, pay attention to their children, and avoid physical violence against strangers. In case of any suspicious situation, immediately report it to the police station. Legal action will be taken if the law is taken into one’s own hands.
